How Does It Work? How Do I Use It?
Some storytellers know what their characters are called and their backstory before writing a word. Some don't. If you fall into the latter category or even if you just need a name quickly as you are jotting down a short story then this will hopefully be the answer.
When you load the page you should automatically load in a randomly selected man's name. Don't want a man's name then change the gender to female and it will automatically generate a femal name. Don't like that one? Press the 'Another first name?' link and another will be loaded. Don't like the surname? No problem, just press the 'Another surname?' link and a new randomly generated surname will appear.
I suppose you're wondering what makes this tool different from other random character name generators out there aren't you?
Well the answer is pretty simple - my army of webmonkeys worked tirelessly to give you over 4000 women's names, over 2000 men's names and nearly 10000 surnames. Which is no mean feat.
