Day Two : 100 Days of Writing

Written on June 2nd, 2010 by Adam in Blog

First of all I should point out that I’m not going to be blogging this every day!  I will definitely be updating by twitter so come and follow there but I find myself with five minutes to spare so thought a post wasn’t entirely out of the question.

So, day two and it already got tricky.  Had a meeting first thing then busy with real life work so thought it was all going to go to hell in a cocked hat.  And then I thought, I’ll just do half an hour and there I was with a thousand words in the bank.

Worked on the new installment of the Defective Detective which is definitely going to be a novella rather than a short story.  It helps that I have an outline I’ve already worked on so I managed to get a first draft of chapter six of twelve.  So that means that I might be half way through and I’m pretty happy about that.

Lessons learned so far: I get much more done if I only concentrate on one thing per day.

Target for tomorrow: try to decide what the hell the one thing will be.

Yep, my sentiments exactly, Adam – who knew it’d be this difficult the second day in?! Enjoying it once I get down to the writing but it’s a strange thing suddenly having lots of spare time and finding the motivation to dedicate even a small part of it to creative scribbles – maybe by Day 50 we’ll be on a roll!
