So I had this idea a while back, I was reading about One Hundred Days to Make Me a Better Person and it seemed like a really good idea.
ONE thing.
done ONCE each day.
for ONE hundred days.
Or to be slightly more specific…
- You make a pledge of what you are going to do
- This pledge must be fulfilled every day for 100 days (or longer if the spirit of goodwill takes hold!)
- Document your activity where possible – snap it, film it, write about it – and keep everyone updated on how you’re getting along
The only problem was I had missed the boat. It was already finished.
And so I decided that it was such a good idea I would do it anyway because, honestly, I don’t write half as often as I should. So… the pledge…
Well I think it’s important that it’s achievable so I am going to pledge to do something related to my writing every day for one hundred days. For at least thirty minutes.
So sometimes that will be writing, sometimes planning, editing, etc. But being a web-based writer that will also involve tweaks to the site, recording the podcast, sorting out the writing prompts generator and other things that us 21st century types need to do to keep things ticking over. I hope this will not only motivate me to write and blog more often but also give some sort of insight into what my writing life involves.
Oh, just one more thing… In the spirit of being achievable I am only going to be doing it Monday to Friday because I want to spend weekends with my family but this gives you the opportunity to come on board and catch up and bloody well overtake me if you like.
Because you shouldn’t just watch. You should get involved and do it too. Pledge here if you like.
